Terms of Service
These terms are between you and Smiling Quokka (ABN 72 680 153 860), the registered Australian business name that publishes and operates Future Me Says. By using it you accept them.
What Future Me Says is
Future Me Says is an AI-assisted future-self letter app for adults. It creates letters in the voice of the user one year ahead, using the unsealed words they choose to share. It is not a person, therapy, medical care or a crisis service.
To be explicit about what it is not:
- Not a human
- Not therapy, counselling, diagnosis, medical advice or crisis care
- Playful tests are reflections, not psychological assessments
You must be 18 or older to use Future Me Says.
Using the service
Use Future Me Says for your own personal use. Do not copy, republish, resell or bulk-extract our content, and do not present it as official material from anyone else. Do not attempt to disrupt the service or use it to break the law.
Private bottles and discoveries
Incoming bottle prompts are curated. Replies and animated releases stay in your private collection; they are not sent to strangers. The ten exploration collections group existing public-domain IPIP-NEO questions and licensed BigFive report text. They are not ten separately validated tests or clinical diagnoses. Results are scored locally, without AI. Source and license details are available inside each exploration.
Cost
Local activities remain free. Personalized AI letters require membership from the first request. After that, an active Future Me Says Membership continues bounded personalized AI letters, monthly reflections, designed PDF keepsakes and the growing future picture. Apple shows the current local price before you confirm.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in your App Store account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period.
Local journal, source-backed explorations, private bottles, existing records, basic data export, privacy controls and deletion remain available.
Deleting your Future Me Says account, or deleting the app, does not cancel an App Store subscription. Manage or cancel Future Me Says Membership separately in your App Store account settings.
Your data
Your content remains yours. You permit us to store and process it only to operate the features described in the Privacy Policy.
The Privacy Policy explains what happens to it and how to have it deleted.
Availability and liability
The service is provided “as is” and we cannot guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or withdraw features. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to resupplying the service or the cost of doing so.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
